Push the button

The time has come to… PUSH THE BUTTON! That’s right, we’re starting recording tomorrow (or today, depending on how you look at it – Its almost 2am as I write this).

I’ve just got home from the studio, having set up the drums and tested they all still work. The Ferginator has been there for even longer, running all the lines and checking all the levels.

So we’re ready to press record. I’m going to try and document things throughout the day. You’ll see the results on here at some stage.

Sleep time!

Steve

What’s the haps?

A few people have been wondering what’s crack-a-lackin’ round at La Maison de Matheson.  They’d say, “Hey, Steve?  What’s crack-a-lackin’ at La Maison de Matheson?”  My answer of late has been, “I don’t know the way to the library”.  But then I figured out how to translate things and now I understand.

Here’s what goes on:

  • We made a video.

And yes, It took me all day to make the album cover

  • We’re heading into the studio in a couple of weeks.  We’re going to start the new record.  I can’t wait.
  • We’ll be playing Karova Lounge’s 7th Birthday weekend (see below).  They grow up so quickly, don’t they?

One day, I’ll post the back of that album cover.  I had to photoshop my pyjama pants out of the photo on the back!

I share too much, sometimes.

Cheers,

Steve

Karova’s 7th Birthday

Karova’s 7th Birthday is coming up on the weekend on July 22/23.  For this special occasion we will be supporting Ballarat legends ‘The Dead Salesmen’. It is always an absolute honour playing with these guys and we are extremely looking forward to the whole shebang.

This is gonna be an amazing night so come one down and join in the celebrations!

…and so it ends.

As it turns out, we got busier than we thought we would.  And to prevent that wonderful ‘mobile-phone-digital-sound-you-get-when-your-phone-is-too-close-to-a-speaker’ noise, we all had our phones off – so we couldn’t blog as much as we wanted to.

Still, we had fun.  The demo session is over, we’ve all gone home and I, for one, am utterly exhausted.  But, as a treat, I leave you with this little gem:

Yep, I’m enjoying myself as much as it appears.  I’m in my Happy Place.

Thanks to The Ferginator from Brown Note Recordings for helping us today.  Legend.  Raw and unmixed, it still sounds tip-top.  He’ll be pushing the buttons when it comes to recording the album for real, too.

Maybe, dear reader, you’ll get to hear the odd track from today’s session.  We’ll see, we’ll see.

Time for my head to hit the pillow – off to my Happy Place!

Cheers,

Steve and the lads.
